Continuing to take baby-steps into the construction method, I bought a pack of Bondo brand body-repair fiberglass fabric from WalMart ($6?). The fabric is a plain weave at probably less than 3k weight. Perfect for practice. I made a T-junction from 1" PVC tubing to act as a bicycle frame joint, and wrapped it with resin and fiberglass cloth.
From the Poor Man's Vacuum Bagging guide, I used inexpensive and readily available materials for the vacuum bag on this layup.
After wrapping with fiberglass, I covered the layup with a section of woven Polyester shower curtain from WalMart to act as a peel-ply, then wrapped that with polyester blanket filler from JoAnne Fabrics as a bleeder/breather. Film is 2mil painters plastic.
Nasty puckering of the fiberglass layup. Too much resin? Should I wrap the glass tighter?
