Test 4: A Better Vacuum Bag Design

Perhaps the vacuum bag could be designed more appropriately for the tubular construction of a bicycle frame. Here is a bag with 2 large pleats which allow the bag to be positioned sideways in relation to the head tube.

Heavily pleated vacuum bag for bike frame head tube junction

This way the bag is not restricted at the most important areas of the structure and allow a more thorough compaction.
Design of vacuum bag to squeeze areas of layup experiencing wrinkling

Results were still poor. Compaction was uneven. Wrinkles. Fiber orientation is bent and uncontrolled.
Compaction of pleated bag still allowed fabric wrinkling
