The soft jaws in my Harbor Freight 4" bench vice want to slip when holding the bike frame at such a large cantilever distance and so little compression force (to prevent frame damage).
Jaw teeth removed for measurements to design new soft jaws that bolt to the vice mouth.
New soft jaws designed in SolidWorks.
Print planned in FlashPrint for the FlashForge Creator Pro
Jaws printed in PLA; simply for.... simplicity. ABS would have been better.
Installed
The angle location caused the clamped tube to interfere with the vice extension rail, so I moved the angled clamps up to avoid and also added vertical clamps.
Love it.
