Plugs were hard to get in to the vacuum bag over the board. I needed glass. Found a frame.

The plug and composite part separates from the waxed glass easily.
Running a line of tow up the parting edge helped add material to bond the halves together.
Properly waxed, the parts separate from the plugs easily. With only 1-3 layers of carbon on the form, the part is able to flex enough to let go of all my geometry.
Here are the left and right side clamshell plug forms for the top tube. Rearward on left with the shock mount indentations and forward on right.
